Spurs Will Look to Rattle Arsenal’s Cage at Emirates This Christmas
The derby North London between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most anticipated events in the calendars of both sets of fans. The two clubs have faced one another in top flight football 156 times since 1900, and each hotly-contested derby is accompanied by a crackling atmosphere in this crowded corner of the city as Londoners exchange taunts, jeers and largely cheerful banter about their predictions for the match. The 156 clashes so far have produced 66 victories for Arsenal, Tottenham 49 victories and 41 draws, and many memorable moments. Who can forget the nine goals at White Hart Lane in 2004 – Noureddine Naybet opened the scoring for Spurs late in the first half, and despite his teammates Defoe, Ledley King and Kanoute to join him on the score sheet, they were finally out-Gunned with the match finishing 4-5 to Arsenal. In 2006, the last derby ever to be hosted by Arsenal at Highbury, the old stadium was once again full of excitement and controversy. Spurs have dominated, but when Robbie Keane capitalized by typing in a brilliant cross from Edgar Davids in the second half, the Gunners players complained that he should have stopped play because Emmanuel Eboue had been injured in a collision with teammate Gilberto. Manager Arsène Wenger and Martin Jol almost came to blows on the touchline on the incident and had to be separated by the fourth official, while David was finally expelled and Thierry Henry saved his opposite side with a goal typically style in the 84th minute, leaving the teams with one point each. The derby this fall, just before Christmas, December 22, 2007, the new stadium of Arsenal, Emirates, tall, which is regularly filled to its capacity of nearly 60, 432. It is set with a cracking game that the home team will want to defend their place, or near, the top of the table and please fans with elegant, flowing football that has become their trademark . They know a brilliant season so far, shake concerns about how they would fare after the departure of legendary Henry with Freddy Ljungberg, Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell to be undefeated in the Champions League and all League games in mid-November. The story at Tottenham could not be more different – after a promising pre-season and the transfer of Martin Jol, apparently leaving spoiled for choice with four top strikers, it was a shocking start with pitiful results dipping Spurs in the relegation zone in October and off-pitch drama leading popular Jol left the club amid accusations and rumors have emerged in an ugly game of the UEFA Cup dull. Under its new manager, Juande Ramos, former Sevilla, Tottenham began to find their marks, keeping clean sheets in wins against Blackpool, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Wigan. But it remains to see how the Spurs are fighting against those offered to the really big boys of the Premier League in the derby and we will seek to continue their brutal climb the table and show what they are made. It will certainly be one to watch as editing and Saturday afternoon (3pm) warming of a few drinks will certainly be called later. For travel enthusiasts, the Emirates is easily accessible by train and subway and there is a good selection of hotels near Kings Cross for the big game can be transformed into a residence in the city of Christmas – Central London Not exactly short on attractive destinations for non-family members fanatic, too.
This Year’s Selection of Christmas Mobiles – Part Two
Following on from my previous article, where I was providing insights below influential in the mobile phone market at Christmas, we Äôll now focus on three of my five top picks for late this year. Apple iPhone (8GB exclusive O2) Apple, the prestige of the AM in the computer and the world of music through his iPod seems to have translated well in the mobile phone industry. Despite the iPhone, specifications aos drawing fire for being a little late, with 2 megapixel camera, compared to 3. 2 or 5 megapixel phones offer more to the party – and no 3G data – it still holds its own with an innovative touch interface. It also doubles as one of the players most ubiquitous MP3, recently, the iPod. With the latest iPod MP3 player means that the user-unfriendly media functions of other mobile phones are overshadowed by this phone. The iPhone has other unique features such as dimming the backlight when it detects that the user has the phone to the face in a call and be able to watch videos in widescreen on its 3. 5in screen simply by pressing the phone on its side. While in no way perfect, the iPhone is a very stylish mobile phone and credibility that many people find attractive. LG KU990 Viewty (All Networks) The LG ÄúViewty, Au, like her, to aos other even a little crazy named models – Shine Slide, chocolate? ” – Is drop dead gorgeous. The design is in cahoots with the iPhone, the adoption of a large touchscreen for keyboard and slim design. Many hail this phone as what the iPhone should have been, with a 5 megapixel camera and even DivX video playback. It seems so similar to the iPhone that could be his twin. As this, the camera, aos video function is a nice addition and potentially hilarious in that it can shoot video at 120fps, meaning that when playing you get perfect playback in slow motion. The phone can also take MicroSD memory cards that are becoming the industry standard with sizes up to 8 GB for photos, music and video. With only a few years in the industry under his belt, LG has quickly made an impression. Its mobile phones are designed specifically for the style conscious, so that Prada has lent its name to one of the previous iterations of this model. With its perfect balance of style and substance, the future of LG in the mobile sector seems positive. SonyEricsson K850i (O2, Orange) SonyEricsson has always been a slight advantage in the mobile market. Being from two technology companies equally successful, and Sony Ericsson, it has had much experience to draw upon. This was evident in its Walkman phone range delay, and the Cybershot from which this device is the latest version. The K850i is like many other handsets with a camera phone with 5 megapixels, so the pictures are guaranteed superior quality. It also has both Xenon and LED flash and a BestPic function, so there is never a bad picture again. While not strictly a Walkman phone, it still works competently as an MP3 player with the ability to download podcasts and favored by high rates of speed HSDPA data. Like most other mobiles in these articles, it is fully functional 3G phone with a pinhole camera on the front of the phone for video calls. The keyboard, while inventive, has received mixed reviews with some people claiming the keys are too small and the directional pad integrated into the keyboard a little awkward. Despite what the phone is still attractive to come in two color ways: black with silver and light green with dark blue velvet. So this is just a selection of the many feature packed mobile phones on offer on pay monthly and pay as you go mobile phone tariffs. Now more than ever, owners of phones are able to get great deals on equipment that will replace many of our old players and MP3 digital cameras, and our mobile phones. With one hand many phones also offer cashback is now as good a time as any to upgrade to mobile news. So treat yourself this Christmas and see the offers of mobile phones on offer!

Christmas – The Legend of Santa Claus – Who Is This Unusually Dressed Fellow!
One of the highlights of Christmas is Santa Claus whose legend made him a sort of magical-hearted, noble and generous “good fairy Godfather” today! Father Christmas was originally a bishop who, after his death, became the legendary St. Nicolas. Here’s something you may be surprised to learn. It was the Greek-speaking Greek! He is suspected to have been born around 280 AD in Patara near Myra. A native of San Nicolas was Christian bishop of Myra (now known as Turkey). Back in those days Myra was mainly populated by Greeks. The Turks did not arrive until the 11th century AD. This bishop was a man of generous heart and kind, devoted especially to children. In 340AD after his death, Myra, it is said that sailors stole his remains and took them to Bari, Italy, where it remains today in the beautiful Basilica of Saint-Nicolas, specially built to accommodate it. Medieval people believed the relics of saints have healing powers and each church had a store of them. Sailors increased its popularity in Europe with stories of his kindness and generosity that lead to greater devotion to the stories of miracles. St. Nicolas became so popular, loved and adored by the people he was honored as the patron of almost everything! It was indeed the national saint of Greece and Russia where churches were named after him by thousands. Known by his red cape, long white beard and the Bishop’s miter, he also became the patron: - In Greece sailors - In France lawyers - In Belgium children and travelers In other countries it was the patron of merchants, judges, poor and almost anything you can think of! Holidays in the official church was established in St-Nicolas honor some time around the 12th century. This was a time when thousands of churches across Europe were dedicated to him. A day of celebration in his honor December 6 became the official day of its celebration and the day is the anniversary of his death. In the early days of celebrations it was considered lucky to make major purchases or to get married on his feast day! Traditionally, the day was honored each year with festivals and marked by giving and charity. How did change his name to Saint-Nicolas in Santa Claus? Some say he left the Dutch name of it. After the Reformation, European supporters of Saint-Nicolas decreased but the legend was kept alive in Holland. Dutch children have a magical tradition when they leave their shoes with enthusiasm in the fireplace and “Sinterklaas would reward good children by placing treats in their shoes. The Dutch settlers brought this tradition to play with them in America in the 17th century when the spelling of his name “Sint Nikolaas” has finally been transformed and affectionately of “Sinterklaas”. Hence the name Anglican “Santa Claus” has emerged which is now the most popular name, it is known today! But others suggest the name comes from the Anglican Germans. As “Santa”, is said to come from the word “Saint” and “Christmas” is an abbreviation for the name Nicholas in Germany. What did he look like? Originally it was in Bishop’s robes holding a Bishop’s miter. Upon first arrival in America Santa did not look like the figure we know today. It was a knee thin, sad face old man wearing a fur coat length. Santa’s Back in the old days were usually dressed in blue, green or black with no red and white that we see now in sight! It was the mid-1850s that the red and white version Jolly fat than we have today gained popularity. The American image of Santa Claus developed from Dutch Sinterklaas austere, a bishop in a red bishop’s costume who rode a white horse. Washington Irving in his comic book “History of New York” is said to be the first to describe it as a plump and jolly. Changing the image of Father Christmas has continued in 1823 with the publication of the famous poem by Clement C Moore “A Visit from St. Nicholas”. In England, the mid-19th century Santa was a big red face, a jovial character who wore glasses and a crown of holly on his head. It seemed almost always accompanied by a gray bowl of punch or with a glass of punch or beer in hand. We know that in the world Santa Claus has been represented in several forms, the most popular being tall and thin or short and fat. How did he become so famous? A transformation of the paper gives the example! Dr. Clement C. Moore (an Episcopal minister) in 1822 describes Santa Claus as a benevolent Jolly fat man in a red suit. He originally wrote the famous poem “A Visit from Saint Nicolas” for his 3 daughters, after an outbreak of inspiration sleigh ride in the moonlight on the market after buying a turkey for Christmas. He did not been published for 20 years. Then, fame soon spread to children and adults around the world. It was much appreciated for his sense of fun and magic. This poem helped popularize the idea of Santa visit on Christmas Eve.
Make This a Green Christmas
The song says “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas” but we need to make this a Green Christmas this year. We need to keep in mind the need to have an eco-friendly Christmas to help our planet. This quote appeared in Time magazine, “Don’t blow it – good planets are hard to find. ”
So what does it take to have a Green Christmas? The good news is going green is very simple especially if you start with the things you can do something about. We cannot do anything about the Copenhagen Climate Treaty going on now. If you want to know more, go to www. cleanskies. com or do a computer search for Copenhagen Climate Treaty. We can do things like reuse wrapping paper or bows. As presents are unwrapped this year, you can save the paper and the bows for next year. You can take the Christmas cards you get and cut off the front cover and then paste them on the presents next year. It recycles the card and is an attractive way to wrap a present. You can even write your To and From on the face of the card.
Another idea is to be sure and recycle your Christmas tree this year. Don’t just throw it out for the garbage truck to pickup and take to a landfill. Find out how and where your community recycles the trees and do that. It does not take that much time and it is a small thing that really helps.
If you have old ornaments, lights, artificial trees, or anything else you don’t want to use for decorating this year, call up Good Will, Habitat for Humanity (If they have resale stores in your area), or other organizations like that to see if they resell them. Again, these items do not go into landfills, other people can buy Christmas decorations for less, and the charity uses the money for their projects. This is a win, win, win situation but please, don’t be a Scrooge and send them your broken stuff!
You can also buy green products as gifts. No, don’t buy green cleaners, but many stores and online sites have very nice Christmas decorations or other items that make great gifts and that are also good for the environment. These might be bamboo clothing, organic towels and sheets, wallets, purses, and bags, and yoga equipment or clothing. There is so much to choose from it is impossible to list them all here. Right now, most online merchants are offering free shipping or other discounts for you to buy online. Go to Products for a Green World/Personal Care for information about these gift ideas.
What about giving green gifts for pets? Yes, there are many great gifts for pets that are eco-friendly. This can be a good time of year to check into other ways of caring for a pet like pet insurance and/or medication. You can buy the same medicines online as you can in stores and if you are not able to travel or there are not pet stores in your community, the online store can be just what you need. Go to Products for a Green World/Pet Supplies for information about all of these ideas for pets.
