Wine Gifts – the Perfect Present This Christmas

  • Posted on January 9, 2010 at 1:29 pm

Not sure what to buy your friends or relatives this Christmas? Well, why not opt for a wine gift? It’s a definite crowd pleaser, looks classy and can be bought from the comfort of your armchair, so you simply can’t go wrong with it.

Buying wine gifts is easy. Just follow a few handy tips below and you’ll have your Christmas shopping sorted in no time.

The simplest piece of advice to remember is that sparkles always go down well. Whether you are buying for your Great Aunt or best mate, for a 50th wedding anniversary or 21st birthday, champagne is always well received. It looks elegant and tastes great.

If you are buying for a range of people and are not sure what to buy for who, you can generally expect that people over the age of 50 will prefer Old World wine, whilst people under the age of 50 are more likely to opt for New World wines.

When buying for your partner or loved one, the best option is to choose something that you are both going to enjoy. Go for a bottle you know you both will love or a mixed case of both of your favourites and you are bound to impress.

If you are looking to make an impact with your wine, why not go for a pre-packaged wine gift? Many wine retailers usually have a range of wine gifts available, which have been carefully prepared for that special occasion. And if you want to go the extra mile, always opt for a wooden gift box. They are a great way of making a bottle of wine look even more perfect, for relatively little extra cost.

Always remember to personalise your gifts with a message. Whether you’ve opted for a case of wine or something from the gift selection, a short message will make it meaningful for the lucky recipient.

For comfort and stress-free shopping, make sure you buy online. Buying from an online wine retailer will mean that you can complete your gift shopping in the cosy surroundings of your own home without the hustle and bustle of supermarket trolleys, Christmas Shoppers and pushy sales assistants. What’s more, unlike traditional retailers, online retailers aren’t restricted by space and don’t have so many hefty overheads, so it means that they can offer a wider range of products at lower prices.

Finally, make sure your buy early, particularly if you are ordering online. Whilst online retailers will often promise to order within a few days, there’s nothing worse than a present arriving late. Make sure you don’t disappoint and place your order with a couple of extra days notice, particularly at Christmas, which is always a busy time.

Good Christmas Present for My BFF?

  • Posted on November 20, 2009 at 3:13 am

Every year, my BFF and I have a gift exchange in the Christmastime. Even though she doesn’t know I know, I am 100% sure that she got me a little white teaset with pink flowers that I rave over whenever we go to that store. I collect teasets. Well, I was wondering what I should get her. I want it to be something nice and keepsake. I dont really care how much it costs, but absolutely nothing over $35 – I dont have that much to spend. So, any ideas? My BFF is sort of girly, loves dance, and is really sweet. Thanks, everyone that answers! :-) I really want it to be something that she can keep forever or display it on her dresser or something.
I cant get her jewelry, because just last week she got us both BFF necklaces – one says “Soul” and the other says “Sisters”. Does anyone think a little small sculpture/ornament type thing with pink ballet slippers (she loves ballet) would be a good gift? Wrapped up in a little green box with red ribbon and a jingle bell on top? I’m sure I could find some little thing that has to do with ballet at the Hallmark store near where I live.

it will say:
Mothers are special people
God knew that from the start
That’s why he created them in His own image and to them gave the biggest heart.
She’s able to heal our hurts with only a kiss and hug
She’s able to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is never slow as a slug.
Mothers are special people
God knew they’d always be
He created them to do so much that involves you and me.
She has to be a teacher to teach us what we need to know
She has to be a taxi driver to get us where we need to go.
Mothers are special people
God knew His work was complete
When He created someone that could do SOOO much on her own two feet.

Christmas Present Ideas?

I have a friend that lives in Belgium and I am wondering what to get him. I have a few ideas but everything I can think of is just so heavy it would cost tons to send to him! He likes surfing and snowboarding, being outside and swimming, but he uses his computer a lot to talk to me. He has an ipod and loves his music hmm I don’t know. Has anyone ever sent a friend something overseas that didn’t particularly mean anything? What was it?
I could always buy him some sort of keepsake tshirt but that just seems soooo typical

What Can I Make My Boyfriend for a Christmas Present? He Likes Creative Gifts.?

  • Posted on November 19, 2009 at 8:39 pm

My boyfriend loves it when I make him gifts, but I am out of ideas. I already have made him a scrapbook, a keepsake box, photo collage and mini photo book, using pictures of the 2 of us. Recently, I took a bunch of scenic pictures of all the places we like to go and made it into a book with quotes. I used shutterfly. He said it was beyond thoughtful and absolutely loved it. It was just like a photography book. How can I top that for Christmas?? I am out of ideas!!! Can anyone please help? Thanks! He is the type of person who is simple and needs NOTHING and I am completely out of ideas.

What Christmas Present Would Involve a Social Security Number?

  • Posted on November 19, 2009 at 6:11 pm

Well… my dad woke me up earlier this month and told me my grandpa wanted my Social Security Number… Then I asked my dad later that day what it was for and he said it’s a Christmas present.

Well, the only thing I could think of would be for a car, but I got my own car like 3 months ago. And even if I think really hard, do you even need a SSN for a car?

It’s not like he’s making a keepsake or something, haha, like those personal shirts that have quotes on them LOL but seriously, I can’t even think of what it could be. Any ideas?
