Gianni Truvianni’s List of Great Christmas Films

  • Posted on January 28, 2010 at 12:59 pm

There are many Christmas film to entertain during this most special time of year and despite this tradition will not go back as far as music and stories that accompany this season, he became all far beyond Christmas as others. For Christmas, now a days are just as eagerly awaited as perhaps the season itself by movie fans from around the world each season, bringing a new batch, most of which will probably be forgotten before the season statements of the following year. Regarding the history behind these films may be we can say that the first films of the season was limited to subjects which depicts the birth and life of Jesus Christ or at least how it took place in the â? ? New Testamente?? of the Bible. These films focusing on showing three wise men being led by a star to a place where the Virgin Mary gave birth to that Christians around the world have called the Messiah. Some films include the events of Jesus??? life, but for the most part, these films Christmas would be limited to events that preceded his birth. But with time Christmas movies as did perhaps the season itself away from being solely focused on the birth of Christ and began to include themes such as Santa Claus. This is the man who supposedly lives in the North Pole and delivers presents to all children, regardless of any other weather or they have not been good through the year. Christmas may be extended even beyond these two themes, like Christmas itself, which increased as the film for this time of year, to include the effect that season has on most people and their relationships to each other. By a strange coincidence, or perhaps it was not the first film to go a path of these two topics was â?? A Christmas Carola ????, based on the famous book written by Charles Dickens. As it could be that this story was the first to focus on another question about Christmas, other than Jesus or Santa Claus. Regarding however the film version of A?? A Christmas Carola ????, which the first was not even given this title but â?? Scrooge?? (sometimes also referred to as a?? Marlei?? s Ghosta ????), it being released way back in 1901 as a short film. Many films will follow, however, based on the theme created by Dickens, but perhaps that makes best use of all these versions of the same, at least as far as those in black and white one is looking Reginald Owen in 1938 in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. The old man biter should be recalled by three ghosts had sent his deceased partner, Marley the joy he once had for Christmas was replaced by his greed for money. Where?? A Christmas Carola?? It can be said to have been the first film to focus on other religious matters then maybe a movie?? ATI?? s A Wonderful Lifea?? which in a sense goes back to them though again not focus on Jesus?? birth, but an angel descends to earth to help one?? George Baileya ????. This is a man who, on Christmas Day has decided that his path would be suicide to escape a life he believes he was not useful at all, but only to prove that in fact many around him would be worst case he had not been born. â?? ATI?? s A Wonderful Lifea?? in my opinion and that of many (at least in the United States), others in recent years replaced â?? A Christmas Carola?? as far as the film’s most symbolic of the Christmas season. As it may be more, then â?? A Christmas Carola?? Captures the spirit so abundant during this season. This is the spirit of generosity and sharing with our neighbors, especially if they are in need or if they through their lives have done as much as George Bailey did for those in his hometown of Bedford Falls. As for me personally, I must say that watching this movie, even under a critical angle, it’s one I recommend above all others when it comes to Christmas movies. It combines sentimentality, but in a strange way to those presented as such are also shown as being practical. After all, they somehow do that show their gratitude to the man who was responsible for them being able to buy houses they live in. This feeling of being told in row A?? I wouldn?? Do not even a roof over their head if it wasnâ?? t for you George??? used by a character who helps to solve Georgea?? s dilemma about the money that was stolen from his savings and loan. Perhaps one reason why ITA A ???????? S A Wonderful Lifea?? replaced â?? A Christmas Carola?? that standard film Christmas is because a?? ATI?? s A Wonderful Lifea?? Contrary to?? A Christmas Carola?? did not have so many different versions do, making it that when people refer to it naturally, they think only one made by looking Capra James Stewart. That being the case if a very forgettable version called â?? It Happened One Christmases?? was made in 1977 which, given the fact that many are not familiar with the original version at the time became very popular. This till â?? ATI?? S A Wonderful Lifea?? has been popularized on television to the point of almost being shown at least once a day at Christmas. All this sending a?? It Happened One Christmases?? Back to the obscurity from which she would never have left. â?? A Christmas Carola?? however, has had many versions made of it, making it almost no version that can be considered classic or original. All this makes it difficult for viewers of films focusing on any particular version or involving the main character?? Ebenezer Scrooge?? with any particular actor, given that many of George C. Scot with Henry Winkler (best known for her portrayal of a??? Happy Days?? The character of the â?? Fonza ????) to Reginald Owen played have played. This is not the case for George Bailey, as this character has come to be associated exclusively with James Stewart. â?? A Christmas Carola?? Perhaps because it was first known as a great piece of literature, however, continued to have its theme not only in film but many TV series as well. For instance?? The Odd Couple?? did Oscar when he was a dream?? Scrooge?? to be visited by the ghost of Felix as Marley’s ghost could not do it because it was his busiest time of year. â?? The Six Million Dollar Mana ????, a television show about a man turned robot has also taken a part of this theme as much as a comic one??? Mr. Magoo?? and even Walt Disney cashed on the idea using Donald Duck??? s rich but often parsimonious Scottish uncle. However, many Christmas movies that I would deserve an honorable mention as â?? The Christmas That Almost Wasna?? Tâ ????, I might add that I went with my class while a student at the parochial school I attended my first New York City. â?? The Christmas That Almost Wasna?? ta?? Itâ I recommend as nice but it probably lacks a little originality because it takes a page ???????? S A Wonderful Lifea ????. This came in the form that it is the children who help Santa collect the money needed to pay its debts or the toys he has worked throughout the year will be taken instead. However when talking about Christmas movies there that I would not even accept children as rotten as I am to see such as the one made with Dudley Moore calls a?? Santa Claus??? or â?? Miracle on 34th Street ????. This movie is very bad taste in my opinion, as he tries to show the suffering of a â?? Poor little girl?? crying because she must be content to live in a luxury apartment in Westside of Central Park, given his mother did not have a house just as chic in the country. This â?? Poor Girl?? Sa?? the tragedy is further increased because it has no father, like most of his loving mother were not enough. This reminds me of how we might classify these orphans, I saw living in the streets of South America, which had to do with much less spoiled American child, while not having what someone so ever. Of course there are other films that have been made and can be purchased on DVD such as â?? The bells of St. Marrier?? although this film, I know very few things that I have neither seen nor read the synopsis and the little I know is that there is a Swedish actress known as Ingrid Bergman, who plays a nun. This is what I picked up on a scene in a?? The Godfather?? in which Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) and his girlfriend, Kate (played by Diane Keaton) out of Radio City (when they showed films there) after seeing and commenting on how can – Michael would rather be that Kate was a religious or Ingrid Bergman. I, with little in the way of knowledge on this film can not recommend it although I have heard from many that it is worth seeing, but again that is what I have heard that a clumsy film?? Miracle on 34th Street?? ?. As for the animation that took my interest during this time of year I must say that â?? The Grinch Who Stole Christmases?? ranks up there as one of the most beautiful films I’ve seen connected at this time of year. This animated film by 30 minutes?? Dr. Zeus??? showing how a girl learns the Grinch mean, there’s more to Christmas, and toys and Christmas decorations is a true classic that no child should ever miss. Those who see this film in English and are old enough can recognize the voice of Boris Karloff (real name William Pratt), also known for his role as Frankenstein. When I recommend this animated film I did not make the stupid movie version made in recent years with the same title by director Ron Howard (also known for his portrayal of Ritchie Cunningham Happy Days) watch Jim Carey. This is because I have trouble deciding if this film is still a tragedy bigger then some other disaster Christmas, I tried to watch television, most of which I did not even mention in this article . Television programs have also contributed great stories of this time of year known as Christmas and it was with all my heart that I would recommend to those who should read this article that this Christmas they turn on Youtube and watch the episode of Twilight Zone: right?? Night of the Meek ????. This is truly one of a fiery man of good nature in the name of Henry Corwin, who by the magic of Christmas is literally transformed into Santa Claus, but not before he was dismissed from his post as the clause department store Santa for drunkenness. It is this history that I would say is my favorite as far as stories portraying the character who is also known as Saint Nick. Henry Corwin as he portrayed as a generous man who drinks because he is unable to help the poor and powerless ONEA?? S as it relates to those around him. One of which is contrary to the child in?? Miracle on 34th Street??? do not ask for a house in the country but work for his father unemployed. However in the presence of a bag of Christmas gifts that seems not only never fails gifts, but have everything in it that ask around like toys, sweaters and everybody about it may wish that Henry Corwin gets what he always wanted. To become the greatest gift giver of all. In conclusion, I would say that Christmas is a wonderful time of year and perhaps in a sense, it is more the films mentioned in this article because they through their stories show us how this time of year can really bring people together in a way that nothing else can. As a personal confession of mine, I must say that â?? ATI?? S A Wonderful Lifea?? a?? The Night Of Meeka?? never fail to bring tears to my eyes. That being the case, soon I found myself watching or even a description of their parcels as I did in this piece of mine.

Memorable Christmas Gifts for Everybody on Your List

  • Posted on November 17, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Christmas is fast approaching once again and now is the time to begin planning gifts and activities during the holiday season.   Finding the perfect gift just involves keeping your eyes open, knowing what the recipient likes and finding the best deal.   That’s why planning ahead can help to make the holidays less stressful so all you have to worry about is bringing yourself and of course any family.
Of course you are usually shopping for many different people, each of whom has their own very unique and distinctive tastes.   Personally, I find that giving personalized gifts, making homemade keepsakes or finding items that allow the recipient to pursue their hobbies and interests are always the most appreciated gifts you can give your loved ones.
Keepsake items like:  a personalized crystal or marble plaque, single or family style coaster sets, glass ornaments for an individual or the entire family, jewelry and jewelry boxes or valet trays, leather travel bags or luggage, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, pajamas, terry robes or slippers, Swiss army knife, leather wallet, women’s tote bags and gift baskets come in a huge variety of colors, styles, sizes and themes sure to please even the most discriminating of tastes.   Plus all of these gift ideas can be personalized with names and dates, initials, a poem, a company’s logo or even a famous quote.
Other items include but are not limited to:  coffee mugs or a thermos, can Koozies for keeping beverages hot or cold, crystal barware, glasses or decanter sets, vintage or modern looking pub signs for the home bar, sterling silver or leather business card holder, leather passport cover and picture frames or photo albums all make unique and thoughtful keepsake gifts that can be proudly displayed and used for years to come.
Personalized gifts are especially fun and unique as children’s gifts.   Children really love to see items made especially for them, later they become cherished keepsakes they will remember fondly.   Items like:  a letter from Santa, their very own book about them or about an adventure they had, baseball and glove, wooden or aluminum bat, piggy banks, blankets and or throws, room signs for both boys and girls, toys like a yo-yo or harmonica and finally you can have a sketch created of your child from a photograph or a funny caricature is also very memorable.
Gifts can also be homemade which saves money and becomes a truly unique keepsake gift.   However for those of us who are not so creative, thankfully we can shop for uniquely crafted gifts.   Gifts like:  scented candles, blankets or Afghans, potpourri, photo albums and gift baskets can all be made at home or bought.   Plus they can all be tailored specifically to what the recipients like and their unique styles.
Other ideas are as follows:  banner or garden flags for an individual, pet or the entire family, a gift certificate to the recipients favorite store or stores, tickets to a concert or event and even etched glass plates, serving trays, bowls and candy dishes make fun gifts to both give and receive.
Also hobby gifts like:  golfing accessories, wine gifts, hiking accessories, camping accessories, any special classes he or she may be interested in or even a hot air balloon ride or an African safari can be the best gift in the world depending on the individual.   Just make sure the African safari goes to your cousin and not to grandma who requires a walker to get around. :-)
Recipients include:  your mother and father, girlfriend or boyfriend, grandmother and grandfather, spouse, the kids, any aunts or uncles and of course any in laws and other extended family like cousins and friends.   This is why Christmas gets so stressful.   With all the plans and a tight budget, sometimes we get a little swept away.   Remember though, the gift doesn’t have to cost a fortune to be well liked and appreciated; it just has to fit into the recipients lifestyle and needs to be something they want or can use.
By planning ahead you will save yourself a lot of stress, plus time and money during the holiday season.   The holidays are a time of giving, so give to everyone on your list as well as yourself this year.   By taking advantage of sales throughout the year and planning ahead, plus remembering to take some time to unwind during and after all the festivities, you will find the holidays more enjoyable, less stressful and more memorable.   Happy Shopping :-)
