You Really Can’t. But what I do is put all the ornam ents that aren’t breakable on the bottom. You can though say “NO!” each time you see him going for one

HaHa…mine too. I honestly have no clue, but I would love to know.

put the ornaments higher up or put something they can’t climb oover in front of the tree.

§you could blow on them or spray them with water when you catch them.

§you could lay foil out in front of the tree

§put foil chains on the tree where they can see them.

§you could put a low fan in front of the tree.

You can try getting plastic carpet runners and turn them upside down all around the tree. They have little spikes on the bottom side that cats do not like (at least most of them don’t) I know it detracts from the looks but it may save your ornaments.

just try to train her with a squirt water bottle. they don’t like to get wet. and she’ll learn really fast that the tree is off limits. try it and you will see how well it works !

My cat does this too. We keep a spray bottle full of water next to the Christmas tree and everytime he goes near it we spray him…. he doesn’t like it too much, lol. It took him awhile to ‘get it’ but eventually he left the tree alone. But I guess if your cat only does it when you’re not around then this idea might not work so well. Oh, another tip, don’t put tinsel on the tree! They’ll eat it. Learned that one the hard way.

cat repellent that keeps them away from areas that you don’t wont them. you can get them at any pet store

Squirt Bottle training MIGHT work .. but I wouldn’t hold my breath Most cats are less the ntrainable .. mind you I bet your cat has you well trained :)

    you could:…

Keep them out of the room…
Get a REALLY lazy cat ?
Paint the tree instead of getting a real one.?
Get a big dog to guard the tree?
    Have Christmas at another location?
Get a tree that makes naoise when it’s attacked?
    Electric tinsile?
Stop Useing balls of catnip as orniments?
When the cats not looking ping it in the head with an orniment?? < don't do that it's only a joke >

Trying to stop a cat from what comes naturally is quite a challenge. Removing the temptation or ornaments from the bottom of the tree might help a little if he does not climb the tree. (yea right)
You might try keeping the cat away from the tree when you are not there to watch him. Another room or blocking his access to the tree until the tree comes down.
Giving him something more interesting that he is allowed to take off the tree like catnip filled “ornaments” might help some. (not likely) Cats are naturally playful and hunters with anything that will move or roll.
You might try some plastic one for him to play with.
    good luck

My cats do the same thing, I try to put them up higher on the tree, but if that doesn’t work, put more food in they’re bowl or give them a new toy, maybe that’ll keep them off the tree, and have more fun. GOOD LUCK! ~Carly

you cant. cats are made to be like that. you play with em and dangle stuff in their face, so they see it on a tree, and think its play time, so let em have fun!

My cat learned two words. Her name and the word “NO”. once she hears it, she runs because she knows she’s in trouble.
